Hi everyone, I thought I would give a further update on where we are at restarting society events.
We were hoping to start limited events this month but at the last minute the government changed their mind about some of the August rule changes and these do have a bearing on the stuff we are allowed to do. Also the weather so far this month hasn’t been good enough. Any events we start with will have to be outside only.
Please bear with us, if we get a reasonably certain forecast of clear skies we will look into the possibility of a limited event at the Wetlands or Derwent.
We are hoping to do the annual Starbque in September.
That reminds me, it will soon be September and time to renew our membership subscriptions. We need your support more than ever with not being able to do our fund raising events. To help you we are working on a method to allow you to renew your membership by bank transfer. Members will receive a text shortly.
We are also working on opening up our Thursday night Zoom meetings to a wider audience and hope to start our Sunday lecture nights on Zoom shortly so watch this space.
