Community Family Event Nissan

Nissan Sports and Leisure Complex (NSLC)  have invited Sunderland Astronomical Society to do some solar observing (open to other AS awell) to attend their Community Family Festival  on Sunday  9th of August form 10:00 am to 6:00pm.

This will be a good opportunity to promote astronomy and our societies to the local community. And also do some possible fundraising for our Observatory dome.

So SAS members, other AS, please show your support for this event.

It is a huge event with many hundreds of employees & members of the publc enjoying the day.

We really need as many  members with SOLAR/WHITE LIGHT scopes to help as we can. For safety no No Dobs, or Bins.

SAS members also required to help fundraise, answer questions, sell SAS merchandise, etc.

Solar Observing will start as soon as  event opens after 10:00 am & finishes around 6 pm.

All participants need to be on-site before  9:30 am.

It is Suggested meetup in WWT car park around 9:15 am  and travel over to Nissan in convoy.

Please Note:This is a ticketed event, but SAS members who are participating/fundriaising get in free (please wear you SAS membership ID badges).

We have a particpant pack (which can be used a ticket) that has been pased to us  from the event organisers to get on site. If you a planning to participate and cannot meet at car WWT park , this can be obtained from the chairman and/orcommitee for fellow SAS members and AS particpants upon request.
