Astrophotography Competition 2016 - Results
This years astrophotography competition on 15th May 2016 had two main categories
- Solar System,
- Deep Sky
Three classes of astrophotography for:
- Beginners,
- Intermediates.
- Advanced .
The images in all categories were of a very high standard this year and in some cases between the intermediate and advanced classes the votes separating the winner and runner-up were separated by only one or two of votes!

Solar System
- Beginner, won by Kris Dawson, Astro image: Moon.
- Intermediate, won by Brenda Wadham. Astro image: Uranus.
- Advanced, won by Stephen Carr. Astro image: Solar (Ha) and Airliner (A340).
Deep Sky
- Beginner, won by Kenneth Hesp, Astro image: Messier 13 (M13).
- Intermediate, won by David Shaw, Astro image: Rosette Nebula.
- Advanced, won by Chris Duffy, Astro image: Veil Nebula.
