The 9th Kielder Forest Spring Star Camp is a star party that starts on the 26th February 2014 until 2nd March 2014. It occurs twice a year once in the spring, usually in March organised by Sunderland Astronomical Society(SAS). The Autumn Star Camp is usually in October and organised by Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society.

Jupiter Nights is part of our annual single night even bigger astronomical extravaganza, which also follows our society’s very successful Jupiter Nights events run at Cygnus Observatory & the Washington Wetlands Centre on 10th/11th January. Event held on Saturday, 8th February 2014, from 6:00 pm, at & in the grounds of the Nissan Sports & Leisure Complex (NSLC) .

Dr Vincent Eke, Durham University will review the state of our knowledge about water ice on the Moon. These will include findings, evidence and measurements from the Indian Chandrayaan 1 and NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter missions, and also including the LCROSS experiment, which crashed a rocket into the Cabeus crater.
