SAS Starbeque

SAS Starbeque event at Derwent Reservoir Car Park.

Date: Saturday 23rd September 2023
Time: From 3 pm until very late, observing afterwards if weather is favourable.
Venue: Will take place at at Derwent Reservoir located at our Millshield dark sky site.

This is our traditional celebration of the return of darker nights and, as this season’s event starter.

NOTE: !!! The event is free to attend Currently SAS members only event.

Therefore, if you are not yet a member, it’s a good incentive to join the SAS:-)

Note 1:Thanks to Michael Tweedy we are being allowed to have barbecues at our event at Millshields at this event this season.

Note 2: There is now a car parking charge of £1.50 for the night Millshields Car Park.

Note 3: Bring suitable clothing for the weather and observing, etc.

There is usually lots of scopes of all shapes and sizes, so if you are a prospective/new member that’s not a problem.

Bring pre-prepared food/meals (off-site) as disposable Barbeques will not be allowed this season.

Depending upon where you are travelling from there are a number of routes to the Millshields dark sky site.

For example, Washington Wetlands Centre to the Millshields (car park & picnic area it’s approximately 26 miles and takes approx. 45 to 60 minutes.
